ETCS Level 1 data engineering in Luxembourg
At the beginning of this year CFL (Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois) put into operation the ETCS Level 1 pilot line (approx. 220 balises and 25km line length) on the Luxembourg railway network. The present publication describes the development of the system concept on the basis of the operational requirements of CFL and its implementation. The procedure of ETCS Level 1 data engineering is then illustrated by reference to concrete operational situations. Based on the experiences of the pilot line, the entire railway network of Luxembourg will be equipped with ETCS Level 1 by 2007.
