New Linz interlocking put into operation
In mid-August 2019, ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG put the new Thales electronic interlocking with Elektra technology into operation at Linz Central Station. It was erected between 2017 and 2019. The interlocking system at Linz Central Station is one of the largest in Austria and was previously designed as relay interlocking. This, however, pushed it to the limits of its technical performance and it was no longer expandable.
