HYDROSTAR® HB is a point operating, switching, locking and monitoring system for turnouts with movable crossings with one or several setting points. The system has one single hydraulic drive directly controlled by the signal box and hydraulically transmits the switching forces to all the switching locking cylinders with their integrated encapsulated closures, which lock the movable crossing in a positive-locking manner. Each switching locking cylinder has an integrated system for monitoring locking. At the point lock, a final position detector is additionally integrated in the trough sleeper. This detector serves to monitor whether the movable crossing mechanically sits close to the wing rail (similar to the tongue detector of a conventional point operating gear). HYDROSTAR® HB stands out by virtue of its pluggable modular design, the fact that it requires little maintenance, its high reliability and the fact that its 100% integration in trough sleepers makes mechanical tamping possible.
