Digitalisation of Stuttgart’s railway junction started
In March, Alstom began equipping the first S-Bahn vehicles for Stuttgart with the on-board equipment for the ETCS system. To this end, the first vehicle of the 423 series from Stuttgart arrived at Alstom in Hennigsdorf on 21 March. In this prototype, Alstom will test, validate and approve the vehicle design for the implementation of the European Train Control System (ETCS) for the Stuttgart S-Bahn. The conversion will be realised at the Hennigsdorf site. At the same time, the conversion of a new-build vehicle of the 430 series, which is coming out of production, will begin....
