The increasing importance of security for railroad applications – the new TS 50701 standard
TS 50701 builds on the security standards from the ISO 2700x and IEC 62443 series already referenced in EN 50129 and ties in with proven concepts from the area of functional safety in the railroad sector. The IEC 62443 concepts that apply to industrial automation systems in general have been adapted to the railroad sector based on a high-level railway-specific zone model. This proximity has also simplified the use of existing and pre-certified components.
