The first public railway came into service almost 200 years ago. At that time the railway was ground-breaking, innovative, a new departure and a solution to many challenges. Nowadays, there is a widespread impression that train traffic represents the exact opposite of this, especially in Germany. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.
