An ETCS Level 3 demonstration at the DB Living Lab
The volume of freight and passenger traffic in infrastructure managers’ networks has been rising steadily over the last few years. Existing tracks are already working at their capacity limits. The construction and approval of new tracks is a laborious process and there are often no real spatial or financial options. Technologies which facilitate increased track capacity at justifiable investment costs are therefore necessary. Operations in ETCS Level 3 (ETCS L3) with the use of virtual signal sections constitute a promising option here....
