Non-repercussion – definition, influencing factors and solutions
This paper compares the analysis methods and approaches for non-repercussion between different systems and subsystems. We have assumed that those parts of the system under scrutiny implement functions at different safety integrity levels, including functions that are not safety-related at all. Dependent failures occur whenever independence cannot be guaranteed. As such, the problems of non-repercussion, the independence of subsystems and dependent failures are similar.
