A Traffic Management System (TMS) is a computer based system whose main goal is to control and supervise a railway line or a node over an area which can extend from a small number of stations or a secondary line with scarce traffic through to a large or very large area, which encompasses a wide set of lines which intersect one another and a wide range of stations, i.e. ranging from the simple to the very complex.
