ETCS L2 on the lines to Eastern Hungary

Thales Austria in conjunction with its Hungarian subsidiary Thales Rail Signalling Solutions will equip the 53 km long line between Rákos near Budapest and Hatvan in Eastern Hungary with Level 2 ETCS. Part of the job includes the installation of 73 new point machines as well as 23 new level crossing facilities. Thales’ bid was in the area of 23.56 billion HUF (76.5 million EUR). A consortium of Siemens’ Hungarian and Austrian subsidiaries also participated in the bid.
