Norway: Siemens to supply Level 2 ETCS for the entire network

Siemens will equip the entire Norwegian railway network with Level 2 facilities from the European Train Control System (ETCS). Simis W interlocking technology and the Sinet IP-based railway line communication system will be installed on around 4,200 kilometres of line. The contracting authority is the Bane NOR railway infrastructure company. The new digital signalling technology should gradually come into operation by 2034. It will be controlled from a central interlocking in Oslo. The contract also includes maintenance for a period of 25 years....
