Modernisation of the Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn AG Interlocking System

November 2002 | Dieter Radzuweit, Frank Felten, Michael Gaßmann

Bombardier Transportation has connected, after only five months of construction, the last section of the railway line Berlin—Basdorf with the simultaneously completed electronic interlocking system of the Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn AG (NEB) in Schönerlinde. Via the control centre in Basdorf, about 20 km of the line network of NEB, including two train stations with a total of 14 switches, 24 signals, three level crossings, an installation for a pedestrian barrier and other signalling elements, can all be controlled and monitored.
