GSM-R Cab Radio – A Communication Interface for ETCS and Train Radio
Railways across Europe are in various stages of implementing GSM-R, the radio system that allows interoperability of train radio equipment across Europe. This paper identifies and outlines the key railway features supported by GSM-R. Attention is then focused on the cab radio, both for voice applications and ETCS.
