Migration to GSM-R in the Netherlands
In 1998 the Dutch rail infra provider ProRail decided to introduce GSM-R and planned to have the network operational on all 2800km by 2003. Since then the total GSM-R infrastructure has been planned, designed, built and tested and is now ready for use. This article will give a description of the chosen migration path from analog to GSM-R and some background information about design, implementation and the actual status.
