The GSM-R Fixed Terminal System – possibilities, migration and safety
This article will show possibilities for the integration of other telecommunication systems into GSM-R networks. The focus is on Rail Control Centres (RCC), where so called Fixed Terminal Systems (FTS) are installed. Such Fixed Terminal Systems combine different technologies and integrate them into the GSM-R environment. Influences on safety in operation are covered as well as standardisation issues.
