Operations Control Centres: The Commissioning Process
Since 1999 Deutsche Bahn AG has commissioned the basic stage of seven new operations control centres which cover rail operations throughout its nationwide network. The timetable processing with LeiDa-F and the associated data keeping in LeiDa-S has been in operation since late 2003. This is the first step towards the final extension stage. Creation of timetables for trains on the national network is now a joint process which takes place from one operations control centre to the next along each route as a relay procedure. The first extension stage is bringing a completely new software system into the operations control centres. This article reports on the alterations and activities necessary for the transition from the basic stage to the extension stage E1 as they took place during the commissioning of the Hanover operations control centre.
