Turnouts with integrated switching systems
Rapid, comfortable, reliable, available and, above all, safe – these are attributes customers of rail-bound transport can rightly demand from the system “railway” nowadays. In this context, turnouts play a central role in railway systems. Rail operators and infrastructure managers pose major challenges to producers of turnout systems. For besides the aspects as seen by passengers mentioned above, economic considerations such as procurement, operation and maintenance of infrastructure, in short the much stressed concept of Life Cycle Costs (LCC), play an important role in the decision-making process for new investments and re-investments. Therefore, VAEE has set itself the target to establish pre-assembled turnouts as “system turnouts” and thus make a harmonised overall concept available to the customer.
