Safety-related Application Conditions – a tight line between safety and effort
Increasingly route control and signaling technology are now being constructed modularly from differing suppliers. Hence, it is becoming more important to have clear functional safety boundaries. A means for these are SACs (Safety-related Application Conditions). This article describes the meaning and the use of SACs. Difficulties and challenges that accompany the creation and use of SACs are analyzed and assessed as Thales Transportation Systems handle them. The article also describes how the use of SACs applies to project requirements and various departments throughout the company.
