New Rigid Track Systems of Concrete

October 2002 | Alexander Wilcken, Hagen Lieschke, Walter Fleischer

In recent years, a large number of rigid track systems and construction methods have been developed. Modified Rheda construction methods are discussed and evaluated on the basis of the integrated Rheda system. In addition, new developments and refinements of supported systems, as well as systems without ties with point support of the tracks are presented and discussed. The modifications and new developments are based on many years of experience gained in construction practice. Knowledge gained from the lay-days of rigid tracks so far has also been taken into consideration. Construction methods that have stood the test for decades in road construction have also been transferred to the rigid track, and proposals for their further development have been worked out.
