Network-wide infrastructure data for operations control centres – the PRISMA project
In the 1990s, DB Netz AG in Germany began developing a concept of regional responsibilities, operations control centres and corresponding IT systems that enabled centralisation in a few locations. IT has developed since then and has made further technical centralisation (along with the procedural strengthening of regional responsibilities) conceptually sensible and possible in order to reduce any redundancies and avoid any problems of consistency, especially in the areas between regions.
