Alstom equips DB Cargo freight loco with ETCS
Alstom has signed a contract to equip another locomotive with ETCS signalling technology. The project, funded by the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW), will see the Atlas ETCS Baseline 3 Release 2 solution fitted to one of DB Cargo’s DE6400 freight locomotives. The new signalling technology will continue to enable Belgian-Dutch freight traffic when lines are upgraded to ETCS for the 2024/2025 timetable change in Belgium and the 2026/2027 timetable change in the Netherlands....
