The development of the new DS3 safety platform – from the research project to commissioning
The rail sector has been designing and standardising track architecture as part of the Neupro project in Germany and the Eulynx project in an international context for more than ten years now. Proprietary solutions for overall “interlocking” functionality are subdivided into the functional interlocking logic and the intrinsically safe field element controllers (e.g. signals or axle counters) with standardised IP-based communication interfaces. This architectural change to a “digital interlocking” offers the possibility of completely centralising safety-related railway applications such as the interlocking logic and RBC logic....
