ETCS Level 2 without GSM-R
Line 1 of the Luxembourg railway network connects the capital Luxembourg with the northern part of the country along the Alzette and Sûre rivers and through the Ardennes Mountains to the Belgian border. Currently the stations and block sections are operated using relay-based signalling boxes. A new signalling concept is to be introduced to the line as part of a technology upgrade.
