Express train to decarbonization – The VOLTAP quick-charge station for battery-powered trains as part of new railway infrastructure
After three years of development, the quick-charge station for battery-powered trains built by Stadtwerke Tübingen (swt) and Furrer+Frey has passed extensive real-world tests. With a BEMU from Stadler, VOLTAP proved that it meets the technical requirements for a market launch. It could thus significantly expand the possible applications of battery train technology in Germany and Europe.
