In the evolution of railway, a new era is about to start that will provide many benefits: the automation of rail transport. Alstom is bringing this goal a step closer, together with its scientific partners Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) and the German Aerospace Center e.V. (DLR). The research project “Automated driven Regional Trains in Lower Saxony”, ARTE, takes place in Lower Saxony and focuses on automated driving based on optical signal and obstacle detection.
