Using innovations more quickly
The last two years have shown that our research and innovation system can also be fast. Although mainly applicable to medical research, other sectors also have reason to be optimistic. However, there are numerous obstacles to innovation in the rail sector. These include complex systems, tight regulations and long-term testing requirements, as well as the long service life of infrastructure/ vehicles and the high cost of retrofitting.
