Development of asset-specific infrastructure use for prevention planning
An intact and robust network infrastructure constitutes the backbone for reliable and economic operations. As Europe’s largest rail infrastructure provider, DB Netz AG operates around 60,000 kilometres of track, 65,000 switches and crossings, 25,000 railway bridges and 3,800 signal boxes [1]. Among other things, the system and life cycle management is responsible for the tasks of the cross-trade prioritisation of maintenance, prevention and medium-term investment planning for the entire network.
