The path to FRMCS
Alstom is fully committed to the implementation of the FRMCS (Future Railway Mobile Communication System). As a preliminary step towards FRMCS, the signaling company is already delivering several critical operational services including MCPTT (Mission Critical Push-To-Talk) over LTE and Wi-Fi backup in the Indian rail corridor between Delhi and Meerut. Regarding FRMCS specifications, the company has developed the first prototypes of the main building blocks via the H2020 5G-Rail European project. This last one demonstrates the implementation feasibility of the first FRMCS specification version issued by UIC, which is the initial step of the large-scale radio system that will be integrated via the European Railway legal framework and a candidate for international deployments....
