2019 will bring about a number of changes in the railway sector. It is expected that the new European legal framework for rail traffic consisting of the new version of the first and fourth railway packages will strengthen railway performance and competitiveness. The European Agency for Railways (formerly the ERA) will become the Europe-wide homologation authority for vehicles as of 16.06.2019 and it will issue permits for new vehicles being launched onto the market and train operating company safety certificates which will be recognised in all the EU member states....
