A comparison of ETCS L1LS and ETCS L2 on the section between Dagmersellen–Emmenbrücke
The section between Brittnau-Wikon (the Dagmersellen interlocking) and Emmenbrücke on the Olten–Lucerne main line shows potential for a “needs-oriented” upgrade to ETCS Level 2 by 2035. The decision as to which system should be adopted will be based on a comparison between ETCS Level 1 Limited Supervision (ETCS L1LS) and ETCS L2. The line capacity and timetable stability under ETCS L1LS and ETCS L2 will be evaluated.
