SmartLogic – increasing capacity and punctuality using a smart safety logic

A detailed solution concept for a generic, rules-based and geometric railway safety logic called “smartLogic” has been developed in a PhD thesis at TU Darmstadt. SmartLogic has been designed to match the needs and take advantage of the future digital CCS components (“Digitale Schiene”) in order to optimise the use of existing track infrastructure in terms of capacity and punctuality.
