Brexit is not only a topic for politicians, but it also effects the railway sector. As such, the European Commission has put forward a proposal, which sets out the emergency rules for the rail sector in the case of a no-deal Brexit. All permits and licences for rail operations which have been issued by the British authorities would lose their validity in the EU27 in the case of the unregulated departure of the United Kingdom. Transition rules should prevent any chaos here. This concerns, amongst other things, safety checks and licences for rail infrastructure (for instance in the tunnel under the English Channel)....
