Surge protection in electronic interlockings and level crossing systems
Both modern electronic interlocking systems (ESTW)and level crossing systems (BÜSA) have many widely distributed, decentralised electronic components and therefore long cable runs. In the worst-case scenario, overvoltage-related transient couplings via the external system can disrupt or even destroy the centralised control electronics.
