The comprehensive rollout of ERTMS/ETCS with the simultaneous implementation of computer-based interlocking technology will constitute a climate, traffic and industrial policy targeted investment for both Germany and Europe. This was also the opinion of Elisabeth Werner, the Director Land Transport of the EU Directorate General Mobility and Transport, at the EBA Law and Technology Symposium in Frankfurt on April 8th 2019. Germany is a significant transit country and as such the Director is of the opinion that the investments in implementing the ERTMS/ETCS need to be accelerated....
