Hamburg: Alstom to supply new vehicles and CBTC from 2028
Alstom will once again supply the new underground vehicles for Hamburger Hochbahn AG, as well as the CBTC operations management system for the fully automated operation (GoA 4) of the new U5 line. The contract was already signed in mid-June, although this was announced in the EU’s TED without naming the contractor. The framework agreement is worth up to EUR 2.8 billion. Hamburger Hochbahn and Alstom announced the details of the contract on 10 July 2024: The first new vehicles are to be delivered as early as 2028; Hochbahn has now ordered 41 DT6-F with driver’s cabs for the existing network and seven DT6-A for the U5 as an initial call-off....
