Quality Indices for railhead machining- A comparison of North America and Europe
Urban Rail operators in North America and Europe are taking different approaches in evaluating railhead machining programs. This is attributed to different approaches to quality control criteria in the applied standards. North American railway operators typically use quality indices as quality measures when applying preventive rail maintenance strategies, whereas European railways apply general quality criteria.
