With more than 900 trains per day, the double-track S-Bahn Core in Stuttgart is one of the busiest lines in Germany. After several years of discussions, concepts and planning, it is now being equipped with a digital interlocking (DSTW), European Train Control System Level 2 (ETCS L2) (without Class B) and Automatic Train Operation Grade of Automation 2 (ATO GoA 2) – one of the first such lines in the world.
