KoKoHa test track project: Modern digital communication for ETCS in Finland
Finland is making significant strides towards implementing the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) and the Future Rail Mobile Communication System (FRMCS). The current train control system in Finland is projected to reach the end of its lifecycle around 2040. The Digirail project, an interdisciplinary team of experts, aims to modernise the technical train control systems on Finnish railways by transitioning to ERTMS and European Train Control System (ETCS).
