MORANE-2: The final validation step towards the 1st edition of FRMCS
The H orizon Europe project FP2-MORANE-2 (Flagship Project 2 – MObile radio for RAilway Networks in Europe 2) has started its work on testing the technological features and components of the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS). Testing will take place in several stages, using three laboratory environments and five field test areas throughout Europe, which include both conventional and high-speed tracks. The real-world test conditions and the broad expertise of the consortium of European railway infrastructure managers, telecom vendors, mobile network operators, the UNIFE rail supply industry association and the UIC international railway union will ensure that the project can foster market-ready specifications for the CCS TSI revision in 2027....
