Use of “Wayside Acoustic Monitoring” by DB AG
The TADS Trackside Acoustic Detection System is used by Deutsche Bahn AG to monitor its entire ICE3 fleet. Trackside measurement devices have currently been installed to monitor wheelset bearings and send data about them to a central database. The results are available to the user via a browser-based display and can be evaluated at the level of the train, the vehicle or the bearing. In this way, the measured data has enabled the reliable condition-based planning of wheelset bearing maintenance.
