Validation of a Westinghouse interlocking system for the German market

März 2004 | Marcus Begemann

The signalling company Westinghouse Rail Systems Ltd. (WRSL) developed a new interlocking system for the German market with the vital processor WESTRACE (WESTinghouse Train Radio and Advanced Control Equipment). Currently this system is in the approval process by the German railway authority (EBA). The Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) is planning to commission the system for the first time and contracted Westinghouse for the resignalling of the line Kiel–Bad Schwartau. The SQS AG helped to create and execute the verification and validation processes for the interlocking system.
