The Federal Ministry of Transport’s digitalisation strategy for regional railways
The digitalisation of the railway transport system is continuing to gain momentum. The transfer of track network infrastructure into a digital image of this very infrastructure is playing a central role in this. This article describes how digitalisation can be achieved by regional and small railway infrastructure operators, which applications are of particular interest and how the “Indres” research project is dedicated to the fundamentals of a multipurpose infrastructure data register.
