Dear readers, the 23rd International SIGNAL+DRAHT Congress took place in Fulda on 9 and 10 November 2023. The theme this year was “Ready for the Rollout?” which naturally referred to the general ETCS rollout in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The thought-provoking lectures especially highlighted the challenges associated with the rollout and in doing so presented the individual thematic areas in a refreshingly realistic way. The necessity of coordination in the general ETCS rollout both in Germany and at a European level was also accentuated a number of times....
