the “Digital Railway Test Site”, which focuses on the Ore Mountain railway between Annaberg-Buchholz and Schwarzenberg, has been further extended. The Federal Ministry of Transport has provided 15 million EUR after undertaking an “ examination of the budgetary and aid constraints ” and the Deutsche Bahn has also matched this amount from its own funds. This should lead to investments in vehicles and infrastructure. The entire line will be equipped with digital interlockings (DSTW) (like Annaberg-Buchholz) and will receive ETCS Level 3 (already available in some sections) and the FRMCS standard as the successor to GSM-R....
