Impulses for meeting challenges in the rail sector
We are currently in the “European Year of Rail” now, in 2021. The European Commission’s corresponding initiative aims to highlight the advantages of rail as a sustainable, intelligent and safe means of transport. A significant growth of transport by rail is targeted at the national level as well, as is underlined for example by the doubling of passengers by 2030 envisaged in the German Government’s coalition agreement of 2018. The corresponding initiatives are, for example, “Digital Schiene Deutschland” (DSD) and “Deutschlandtakt”....
