Thailand relies on the European Train Control System ETCS

Thailand is a fast developing country in Southeast Asia with a rapidly growing economy. In order to cope with the greatly increasing demand for transport, especially in the greater Bangkok area, the Thai government has resolved to comprehensively overhaul, modernise and expand the country’s railway network. The installation of the European Train Control System ETCS is a key element in this modernisation and it will ensure significant increases in safety and also in capacity in some cases.
