Dear readers, This year’s Signal+Draht Congress took place in Fulda from 7 to 8 November 2024. Around 280 participants discussed the question of what contribution digitalisation can make in reducing the complexity of the construction and operation of rail-bound transport. Specific experience from the reconstruction of the Ried Railway and the Stuttgart Digital Node, as well as solutions from the Netherlands and Austria pointed to a number of multifaceted opportunities.
