Risk Acceptance Criteria for FFB Radio-based Train Operation

A risk analysis in accordance with draft standard prEN 50129 is being carried out for the operating procedure “FFB radio-based train operation” by German Railways (Deutsche Bahn AG) with the support of the Transportation Systems Group of Siemens AG and the Institute for Railways and Traffic Safety (IfEV) of Brunswick Technical University. The starting point for this analysis is the determination of the level of accepted risk. In the following paper, the so-called risk acceptance criteria are defined and discussed for FFB.
