Operations Control Centre Lisbon – automated route management

Oktober 2009 | Gerald Thiemt, Nuno Barrento, Volkmar Heuer

In a turnkey project contracted by REFER, Thales supplied the complete operations control centre Lisbon (CCO Lisbon) which controls, supervises and manages more than half of the rail traffic in Portugal. The solution is based on the products Integrated Vital Human Machine Interface, Command 900, Aramis, and Automatic Route Setting System of the Rail Network Management (NetTrac) product family. The contract was awarded to Thales in 2005 and the system was put into operation in winter 2007. This modernization is aimed, among other things, at enabling the system to cope with the forecast increase in traffic. After two years of operation, the expected benefits for the business process are very much in evidence.
