With ETCS “active” across Germany
ETCS means for vehicles a continuous migration and evolution, adapted to the equipment conditions of the tracks of different network operators in different countries. Different ETCS versions, border transition procedures and transitions to national systems today and tomorrow have to be taken into account. As the migration schedules of the different network operators are not secured and harmonized at the moment, Alstom is systematically implementing its step-by-step approach to achieve the vehicle operator’s target: securing operation, adapted to the corresponding track implementations. Already today, there are more than 100 vehicles in operation in Germany every day with ETCS active equipped by Alstom.
